Texas Instruments

Battery management & motor-control chips

Where it fits in the robot

Dedicated humanoid reference designs cover battery monitoring, balancing, protection, gauging, motor control, and power conversion.

What the evidence establishes

Humanoid evidence

Humanoid reference designs cover motor drives, BMS, sensing, controllers, and multi-axis hand control. TI supplies chips, not complete mechanical hands.

An explicit humanoid product, development program, application, or partnership. This does not establish revenue, market share, or production volumes.

Keep in perspective

Semiconductors enable many end markets; TI is not a battery-cell producer or a humanoid pure play.

Diversified business exposure. This describes the breadth or role of the business; it is not an investment rating. A robotics product or development announcement does not by itself establish material humanoid revenue, market share, or future returns.

Connections to the assembly

These links explain the technology relationship. The model is illustrative and does not represent an actual manufacturer’s bill of materials.

Encoder & drive electronics

Position feedback and a motor drive close the control loop so the joint follows commanded motion.

Scope of the company links: Includes position encoders, motor-control chips, drive power devices, and integrated controls. Open a company to see its specific role.

AI & control processor

The main processor executes perception and planning. Real-time control can run on separate processing cores or devices.

Scope of the company links: AI processors and embedded real-time controllers serve different workloads. Arm licenses processor IP; it does not manufacture chips.

Battery management board

Monitoring and protection chips measure cell voltage, temperature, and current, and help balance the cells.

Scope of the company links: Battery-monitoring, protection, balancing, and management electronics. Cell makers and generic motor drivers are listed separately.

Signal conditioning & ADC

Amplifiers and analog-to-digital converters turn small electrical signals into calibrated measurements for the control system.

Scope of the company links: Precision measurement and embedded signal-processing electronics. This is not a claim that these companies make a complete six-axis transducer.

Miniature motor & drive

A compact motor and drive regulate the finger’s force and position.

Scope of the company links: Miniature motors or integrated hands, plus hand motor-control electronics. Chip suppliers do not manufacture the mechanical finger.

Contact-force feedback

Feedback helps the controller limit grip force. Listed suppliers offer relevant force-sensing or signal-chain technology, not necessarily this fingertip design.

Scope of the company links: Tactile/contact-force sensors and supporting measurement electronics. Joint angle encoders and wrist torque sensors are different from fingertip touch.
