GB200 NVL72 by HPE and AMD Helios racks

Where it fits in an AI server rack

Shipped its first NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 rack-scale system with HPE direct liquid cooling (Feb 13, 2025) and will offer AMD’s Helios rack-scale architecture (MI455X GPUs) worldwide in 2026 with a scale-up Ethernet switch developed with Broadcom (Dec 2, 2025). Q3 FY2026 server revenue was $6.8 billion, up 35% (Sept 2, 2026).

What the evidence establishes

AI-rack evidence

Partner-disclosed: AMD’s release says HPE will be one of the first OEMs to offer its Helios rack-scale platform; NVIDIA names HPE among Blackwell Ultra server makers. HPE’s own GB200 NVL72 release was seen in search results only.

An explicit AI-server or AI-rack product, design-in, supply role, program, reference design or partnership, such as a part named for rack-scale AI systems or a product sold for AI data centers. For a rack builder, it means the company’s own AI servers or racks. This does not establish revenue, market share, volumes or future sourcing.

Listed as a rack builder for its own AI servers and racks, not as a supplier of the parts inside.

Keep in perspective

HPE does not break out AI-system or rack-scale revenue in its Q3 FY2026 results, and Helios availability is a 2026 plan. The Helios switch uses Broadcom silicon, so HPE has no switch-ASIC link.

Diversified business exposure. This describes the breadth or role of the business; it is not an investment rating. An AI-server product, design-in or partnership does not by itself establish material AI-rack revenue, market share, or future returns.
