NTT

Co-develops optical quantum computers with OptQC

Where it fits in a quantum computer

Signed a collaboration with OptQC, a University of Tokyo spin-out building room-temperature optical quantum computers, aiming at one million qubits by 2030 (Nov 18, 2025), then a capital and business alliance under which NTT plans to invest in OptQC and contribute optical-communication, network, data-center and IOWN technologies toward a fault-tolerant, million-qubit-class machine by fiscal 2030 (Aug 3, 2026). OptQC began operating its first optical quantum computer, MoQuren, at AIST’s G-QuAT in July 2026.

What the evidence establishes

Quantum-computing evidence

Disclosed: NTT’s releases describe the OptQC collaboration, the planned investment and the one-million-qubit target.

An explicit quantum-computing product, design-in, supply role, program or partnership, such as a part sold for quantum computers or a named quantum-computer customer. For a maker, it means the company’s own quantum computers or processors. This does not establish revenue, market share, volumes or future sourcing.

Listed as a quantum-computer maker for its own systems, not as a supplier of the parts inside.

How we knowDisclosed The company’s own filing, release, annual report, product page or investor record describes the quantum-computing role. Where customers are unnamed, the listing says so.

Keep in perspective

NTT does not build or sell a quantum computer itself in these sources, the investment amount is undisclosed, and the million-qubit machine is a fiscal-2030 goal. OptQC is private.

Diversified business exposure. This describes the breadth or role of the business; it is not an investment rating. A quantum-computing product, design-in or partnership does not by itself establish material quantum revenue, market share, or future returns.

Connections to the assembly

This company is mapped at sector level. The reviewed evidence does not establish a direct match to a specific illustrated part. Explore quantum computer makers for the broader relationship.
