Hitachi

Silicon spin-qubit computer R&D with Intel and AIST

Where it fits in a quantum computer

Selected for a NEDO project (July 22, 2026, running to March 2029) to establish industrial-quality 100-qubit silicon quantum computers: Hitachi designs the qubit chips with Intel using Intel’s 18A-based quantum-device processes and qubit PDK, develops 3D integration for 1,000-qubit systems and low-wiring control circuits, and builds with AIST a cloud system for silicon quantum hardware at G-QuAT.

What the evidence establishes

Quantum-computing evidence

Disclosed: Hitachi’s release describes the NEDO silicon quantum computer project, Intel’s manufacturing role and the AIST cloud system.

An explicit quantum-computing product, design-in, supply role, program or partnership, such as a part sold for quantum computers or a named quantum-computer customer. For a maker, it means the company’s own quantum computers or processors. This does not establish revenue, market share, volumes or future sourcing.

Listed as a quantum-computer maker for its own systems, not as a supplier of the parts inside.

How we knowDisclosed The company’s own filing, release, annual report, product page or investor record describes the quantum-computing role. Where customers are unnamed, the listing says so.

Keep in perspective

This is an R&D program with no product or revenue yet, and Hitachi designs rather than fabricates the chips. Spin qubits differ from the illustrated transmon chip, so no processor link is made.

Diversified business exposure. This describes the breadth or role of the business; it is not an investment rating. A quantum-computing product, design-in or partnership does not by itself establish material quantum revenue, market share, or future returns.

Connections to the assembly

This company is mapped at sector level. The reviewed evidence does not establish a direct match to a specific illustrated part. Explore quantum computer makers for the broader relationship.
